Sustainable Wedding

We are proud to be a B Corp!

In May this year, we joined a growing community of purpose-driven businesses that strive to achieve the highest standards of social and environmental practices: we became a B Corp!
For us, this is not only a reflection of our passion, efforts and achievements to operate as a more sustainable business but also the humbling realisation that we still have so much we can do. Being part of a global network of ambitious and inspiring businesses, we are committed more than ever to doing our bit to drive change.

We are working on our impact report and look forward to sharing our achievements to date as well as our future challenges…

the journey continues!

A Wedding Venue committed to sustainability

At Hayne House, we take pride in building a sustainable wedding venue. We wholeheartedly believe that weddings can be kinder to the planet – without compromising on style or quality. Our team is passionate about upholding our responsibility for the environmental impact of weddings, and we’re committed to taking meaningful action to play our part in protecting our planet – this is what makes us an eco-friendly wedding venue.

We are proud to have received certification from the Sustainable Wedding Alliance in July 2021 and play an active role within the wedding industry to make it more sustainable.

Hayne House’s journey to being net zero is a long road ahead, and we know it’s no simple undertaking. By sharing a snapshot of what we aim to achieve over the next 5-10 years, you can see our dedication to this challenge. We hope it’ll inspire you to take part in it, simply by hosting your wedding with Hayne House.

Our commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of every decision we make, both within our business and beyond. From our long-term ambition to reach carbon net zero, to the smaller actions we take on a day to day basis, we are doing our very best to evaluate and improve our practices, one step at a time.

In January 2021, we kicked off the year by joining the United Nations Race to Zero Campaign, a global campaign to achieve net zero by 2050. We believe we can reach that target way before that, and are on track to reducing our scope 1 and 2 emissions by half by 2025 and hope to be as close to net zero (scopes 1 and 2) as we can by 2030. We are still working on how to measure our scope 3 emissions so that we can set meaningful targets. We are proud to be ambassadors for the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, working to promote sustainability within the industry.

Being part of the change

From the moment you choose Hayne House as the home of your big day, you’re making a brilliant step towards a green wedding- because for every wedding we host, we make a donation to the Kent Wildlife Trust!

Our team are so incredibly passionate about the opportunity we have to create change within our industry, and has poured untold hours into ensuring that the commitment to the sustainability of every supplier to our business meets our own high standard. It’s all about making it easier for our couples to plan a wedding that treads a little more lightly upon the planet – without having to compromise upon a single detail.

Offering affordable wedding venue incentives
A Wedding Doesn’t have to cost the Earth

As part of our pledge toward being more sustainable, we’re offering some amazing incentives to couples who make simple choices to lessen their impact on the environment. You could be rewarded with an upgrade toast drink of Sparkling Chapel Down for your top table and the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win four tickets to our annual wreath making event !

A venue to learn, share and grow

We know that we can’t reach our ambitions without the support of our couples and suppliers, so the more we share the more we learn. Whether you’re planning your sustainable wedding day, or are a fellow eco-friendly wedding venue or supplier, we’d love to hear from you! After all, sharing knowledge is the best way we can grow together.

We’re delighted to offer Hayne House as a platform for promoting sustainability and engaging with our community on this crucial mission – if you’d like to discuss this, please do get in touch.
