It’s sometimes hard not to feel bittersweet when your romantic Kent wedding comes to an end. You plan and plan for your big day only for it to be over in a flash.
But who says your wedding must stop there?
Why not spend a few extra days in Kent celebrating saying ‘I do’ and enjoying what the Garden of England has to offer? Let’s have a look at some truly romantic places in Kent.
A stones throw away from Hayne House in Ashford is the wonderful Gusbournes Vineyard. You might have already had the luxury of trying some (or a lot!) of their wine at your wedding so you will be pleased to know that they offer insightful and romantic vineyard tours. You can stroll around in newlywed bliss and take in all the knowledge their great sommeliers can teach you about vintage English wine.
Whether you are going for a family centred wedding or making it a friend affair, why not head on down to the Kent coast for a big brunch to continue your celebrations in style? About 10 minutes away, The View Hotel and Restaurant offer exclusive brunch for Hayne House couples, where mimosas and fluffy pancakes are never out of the question! Breath in the fresh Kent Sea air and enjoy that fact that this is really your first actual ‘wedding breakfast’ together.
3. A picnic by the sea
There is no shame in wanting a quiet affair the day after your wedding. It will give you time to celebrate your love and being together. If you are saying ‘I do’ in the warmer months (or cold if you’re brave enough) then take full use of Kent summertime weather and have a scenic picnic on the local Sandgate beach. Our wonderful caterers Scott Anderson can provide hampers on request for you to relish in your favourite food and listen to the soothing waves.
If you see yourselves as wanting to continue your married life as a sustainable one or have a passion for supporting local communities, then signing up to free newsletter by Every one of Us is the best way to ensure you are up to date on all of the above. The local co-founders Aimee & Sonia and Hayne House are keen for newlyweds to live environmentally consciously and by signing up they bring a new topic of sustainable conversation to your inbox each week. Your wedding will mark a pinpoint of change in your life together, as newlyweds and as eco warriors.
If you are making your romantic Kent wedding into a two-night trip or even having a cheeky Kent staycation, then it is always good to check out what is going on at Leas Cliffe Hall on the Folkestone promenade. They have a mixture of fun tribute shows for all your family as well as some great bands who play there often. Time to put back on your dancing shoes and recreate your first dance!
6. Hide and Fox
If you decide you want another fancy gourmet meal after your wedding, then hop on down the hill where you will find the Michelin star restaurant Hide and Fox restaurant. Run by chef Allister Barsby and managed by Alice Busso, their love of dining, fresh produce and amazing wine, creates for an experience like no other. Right in the heart of Saltwood village, it only takes two minutes from our door to theirs.
If Kent is your wedding destination of choice and you want to do something different to celebrate, we strongly suggest you should head to The Marlow in Canterbury. Surrounded by lots of fantastic pubs and restaurants, a night out at The Marlow is the best way to submerge yourself into Kent culture. The theatre itself attracts large crowds as it is a pitstop for most touring Westend plays and musicals.
Choosing to host your wedding at Hayne House makes it easy for you to enjoy all these romantic places in Kent.
