How do you choose the perfect menu for your wedding day?

A wedding breakfast is the central part of a wedding day – guests are seated in the stunning Hayne House Orangery, families are reunited and by the end of the meal, guests that didn’t know each other before become best of friends!

The key thing to remember when choosing your menu is to select dishes that you are going to enjoy eating, as ‘you’ are the most important part of your day. The good news is that your menu possibilities are endless!

Do we have to book a traditional wedding breakfast?

A ‘traditional’ wedding breakfast which follows the wedding ceremony is a sit-down three course meal, however in the last few years the wedding industry has seen food trends develop in leaps and bounds and Scott Anderson has always been at the forefront of these new innovations.

Sharing wedding breakfasts are a great alternative to a traditional wedding breakfast, especially if you are looking for a more informal atmosphere for your big day. Begin the meal with guests passing bread to one another, swapping dips and sharing charcuterie gets everyone interacting and engaging with each other. Our sharing mains are all accompanied by bowls of delicious sides for your guests to enjoy and for the evening why not consider our elegant dessert bar to finish?

What about dessert?

Our table of miniature desserts looks almost too good to eat and your family and friends won’t be able to resist grazing on our delicious double chocolate brownies, mouth-watering macarons and three more delectable desserts of your choosing. This relaxed style of wedding breakfast ensures that your menu is full of choice in every course and packed with flavour.

Sustainability is also becoming a big wedding trend as we know is important to Hayne House who have a ‘green pledge’, and it’s been in the forefront of our minds since our kitchens opened in 2008. We at Scott Anderson are proud to have always used local produce where possible and we guarantee your meal tastes all the better for it. It also means we are supporting local businesses as well as hugely reducing our carbon footprint with every dish we serve. From locally sourced meat reared in Kent farms to growing our own herbs at our kitchens in Faversham, our ingredients are fresh, thoughtfully sourced and of the very best quality.

We have also seen a large growth in demand for our exclusive plant-based menus. Our chefs have been busy experimenting with dairy, egg and meat-free dishes to help you create your very own eco-chic wedding menu if you have a plant-based lifestyle and want your guests to experience how delicious it can be.

We know that the Hayne House team love a ‘green wedding’ as much as we do and we can’t think of a better suited venue to host your eco-friendly day.

Hayne House’s natural surroundings are the epitome of the glorious Kent countryside and you can enjoy a quintessentially English garden party by treating your guests to a traditional afternoon tea. With a selection of finger sandwiches and savoury bites alongside freshly baked scones and your choice of sweet treats, you can truly indulge as you look over the picturesque gardens. Our staff will serve a selection of the finest teas and roasted filter coffee, supplied by a local Canterbury coffee shop, throughout the meal to accompany your afternoon tea wedding breakfast.

If you would like something that you haven’t seen in our Scott Anderson Wedding Menu, let us know your vision for your big day as we love creating bespoke menus based on your ideas. You might like to theme a course on the restaurant you ate at after you got engaged, or a meal you love cooking at home together.

You can have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced event managers and chefs to develop your unique menu for your family and friends to enjoy and help create memories that will last a lifetime.

We look forward to hearing from you and can’t wait to cater for your wedding at Hayne House!
